Bangalore Election - Drop-box facility for EPIC dropped

The drop-box facility for processing electoral photo identity cards (EPIC) has been withdrawn with immediate effect. The Election Commission made the announcement on Wednesday, barely 10 days away from the first phase of elections.

EPICs are not mandatory for voting. It is enough if the head of the family shows one of the several identity documents to the polling officials. “Even if one document is produced, the entire family will be allowed to vote.’’

Voters can call up 155212 to find out the location of their booths and other details. The line will be activated soon.

If you don’t have EPIC card, use one of the following;
Passport, driving licence, PAN card, government or public sector undertaking identity card, nationalized banks or post office passbook, Kissan passbook, education institution identity cards issued before October 1 2007, property register, ration card with photo, caste certificate, pension papers, freedom fighters identity card, gun license, handicapped certificate, ex-serviceman identity card, Sandhya Suraksha card, NREGA card or Yeshaswini card.
